Upcoming Annual General Meeting

The Hampton Iona Community Group (HICG) held its most recent AGM on January 15, 2009. Unfortunately, the meeting had to end early and the nomination of the new Board of Directors and election of the Executive Board positions was postponed. We will be holding the election portion of the AGM on May 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Hilson Public School. Membership on the board of directors is on a voluntary basis and all are welcome to join. If you wish to be involved with the community association but do not want to sit on the board, you can still sit on a specific committee (Parks, Development, Traffic & Transportation, etc) or help out at special events. Please make your interest known by contacting Lorne Cutler at lacutler@magma.ca or at 613 725-9147.

There are four executive positions on the board for which we will be holding elections at the AGM. These positions are: President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. If you are interested in running for any of these executive positions please contact our Nominating Officer, John Coll at 613 725-2571 or john.coll@ocdsb.ca prior to the meeting. As well, nominations from the floor will be allowed.

The election will be immediately followed by the first meeting of the new board which will include an update on recent community events. This meeting will be open to the public. Issues to be discussed will include the End-of-School-Year party in Iona Park and an update on the NCC’s investigation of an off-leash dog park in Hampton Park.
