14 November Community Meeting on the Convent

Resident Sylvano Carrasco, who organized the last pre-PEC community meeting on the Convent is organizing another meeting this Sunday, 14 November from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  He sends us this message, and we’d encourage all to attend:

Dear Neighbours,

I would like to make a plea to the community to come speak at the Planning Committee (on Nov 16th)  to voice their concerns about the proposed zoning of the Ashcroft Convent site.  We had a great turn out at the last Planning meeting and while we didn’t get a chance to voice our concerns, this is the time.  We know that the staff report supports the current zoning application by Ashcroft but there is much outrage at the proposal and we can still influence the Planning Committee and City Council to vote against it. YOUR VOICE DOES MATTER….that showed loud and clear at the last PEC meeting.

I have booked St George’s Church for Sunday Nov 14th from 6:30 for a community meeting to discuss the Convent and the upcoming PEC Committee meeting on Nov 16th.  If you would like to come out to talk about the Convent Zoning issues or would like to show your support for the community, please feel free.  Any speakers who plan to speak at the PEC meeting on Tuesday are welcome to come and share their thoughts.  We have more information since the last time we met and this is the time to share our ideas to convince PEC that this development does not fit in scale with the community

When: Sunday Nov 14th
