OCDSB Seeks Feedback on Strategic Plan

A message from the Ottawa-Careleton District School Board:

I am very pleased to present the key elements of the 2011-2015 strategic plan for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.  The attached "strategy map" provides a one-page overview of the vision, mission, and key areas of focus for the district.  We are looking for your feedback on this document before we finalize our next strategic plan.  Please take a look at the key elements of the strategy map:

  • Vision 2015 – an expression of where we want the organization to be at the end of the four year plan.
  • Objectives 2015 – indicators that help to explain how we will know if we have achieved our vision at the end of the plan.
  • Mission – an expression of our values and a statement of the work that we will do to achieve the vision.
  • Four Key Priority Areas – the foundation of our mission statement, the four key priority areas are: Well-Being, Engagement, Leadership, and Learning

The strategy map was developed as a result of the input we received from our "Schools for the Future" consultation forums last fall.  Fifteen consultation forums were held and attended by over 500 participants.  This was a critical component of the strategic plan development process and informed the work of the Board of Trustees and senior staff.

Now we need your help to finish the plan. Please take a look at the strategy map and provide your feedback.  There are many ways that you can share your thoughts and ideas with us:

Or, join us in person at one of two public Schools for the Future Open Houses.  These are drop-in sessions that will be held on:

  • May 9, 2011 – 5:00pm – 7:30pm at 133 Greenbank Rd.
  • May 16, 2011 – 5:00pm – 7:30pm at 133 Greenbank Rd.

I appreciate your on-going interest in the important work that we do in educating the children of our community.

Kindest regards,

Barrie Hammond

Director of Education/Secretary to the Board
