Copies of Peter’s book "Don’t Spit The Good Stuff”’ will be be available, as well as a mystery door prize. Tickets are $40 in advance, and can be purchased by contacting 728-1231 or 729-9535 or emailing fundraising@hamptoniona.ca. All proceeds go to the Hampton Iona fund for land zoning appeals.
For those who are wondering why we are still fundraising after the recent Ashcroft settlement, the answer is twofold: in the short term, the issue of a Convent access road through the Byron Linear Park or Shannon Street has not been settled, and in the longer term, history has proven that we need to maintain our fundraising efforts for the next overdevelopment challenge on the horizon. The funds that formed part of the settlement are also restricted from being used for land use planning challenges, meaning that we must continue fundraising efforts for these types of challenges. For full details and a Q&A on the settlement, please see hamptoniona.ca.
