  1. Past debates have been far too controlled so real issues could not be properly discussed or debated. Bias has been evident in the moderators as well as in the way in which questions were managed – with candidates getting away with non-answers or diversions. There are real issues at stake in our democracy – at all levels of government – and the public has a right to have meaningful input and a real ability to question. HICG “debates” have not served the community well..
